H1N1 Information (Swine Flu) (updated 28/07/09)
- Patients who have flu like symptoms are asked NOT to come to the surgery.
- There is now a new National Flu Service Telephone Line for ADVICE for patients who think they may have Swine Flu.
- National Flu Service - 0800 1 513 100
- A national flu service website has been set up - www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu
- The aim is to relieve the workload from the GPs and to have a central dispensing service for antivirals.
- Patients should call this number rather than their GP.
- The National Flu Service will assess each case and decide if antivirals are necessary.
- If antivirals are prescribed they must be collected from an Antiviral Collection Point.
- The antiviral collection point for patients of St. Margaret's Medical Practice is Central Libary, Touchwood in Solihull.
- This collection point is open 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays.
- For patients who have difficulty accessing the National Flu Service, they are advised to contact their GP. Please call the surgery and the receptionist will arrange a telephone consultation with your doctor.
